Day 4 John and James

All the students awoke bright and early this morning for an early start to the day. After eating breakfast at the Grand ANZAC we packed the bus full of our luggage and headed to the ferry leaving Canakkale for the final time in this trip. We tried to catch the 8am ferry but it proved too busy and we ended up having to take the later 8.30 ferry, however it was not too bad, as once we boarded the ferry all students and adults went upstairs to enjoy some Turkish Tea. Returning to the bus we had a 5 hour bus trip to look forward to... However due to traffic, toilet stops, lunch and a flat tyre we were delayed by roughly 3 hours and reached Istanbul around 4.50. The long bus trip gave students valuable time time to catch up on some sleep which led some students to try and take some 'sleeping selfies'.

Upon reaching Istanbul we quickly unpacked our bags and were rushed into our hotel which offered a very nice surprise as the decor was very nice. The tour was shown to their rooms and began to unpack and make themselves at home in the hotel that they would be staying at for the next 3 nights. Students were given suitable time to refresh and get themselves ready for the next dinner of 'My Restaurant Rules' Mrs Turley and Mrs Salmeri must have been pretty confident as yesterday's restaurant took up to 2 and a half hours to get entrées to some of the students and adults. The students were told that chips would not be on the menu tonight as we would be going to a Chinese restaurant. The dinner was a set menu and the night was full of laughs as the restaurant choice proved to be very popular for some but a bit safe for others... However with a score of 29 Mrs Turley and Mrs Salmeri took the top of the leaderboard in my restaurant rules, a nice walk home detouring past the Blue Mosque lead students and adults towards a comfortable bed preparing for the morning.

John Dowey and James Abbott.
