Hey everyone,
After an eventful 25 hours we have finally made it to our hotel, The Grand ANZAC. The journey began with the emotional goodbyes from our loved ones and the departure to Perth, which took 3 hours as the group stopped on the way at Pinjarra to grab dinner before our big 12 hour flight. Once arriving at the airport, reality set in and we were all excited to begin this epic journey. First time fliers, Emma, Rhiannon, Georgia and Liam (me) all had a good time, however halfway through the flight Georgia realised that she had nothing underneath her. And also the embarrassment we put Jordan through by singing him happy birthday on the plane, with everyone still onboard! Once the exhausting flight ended, we boarded another plane to journey 5 hours from Doha to Istanbul, which definitely felt like it was longer than the 12 hour flight! Finally we arrived in Istanbul and met up with our tour guide Hakan. On the way to our hotel we stopped at a Turkey petrol station and tasted the traditional dishes such as soups, rice and a variety of salads. We then finished the night off with a magnificent dinner to celebrate our first 'official' night on the tour as well as Jordan's birthday, in which we shared a delicious chocolate cake together as a group!
Cheers,
Mason & Liam
